GLOBE & SMART Begins Compliance to One-Year PREPAID LOAD VALIDITY

Good news for all of us prepaid mobile subscribers!

The country's two telco operators finally start compliance with the NTC memo to extend the validity of prepaid loads to one year.

Thankfully, Globe and Smart will start adhering with NTC’s Memorandum Circular No. 03-07-2009 Guidelines on Prepaid Loads.

As per DICT's official announcement:

[UPDATED, 5 January, 2018]

In order to avoid any public inconvenience, the DICT has given telcos a 6-month grace period to adjust their systems to the one-year extension of prepaid load validity. However, loads of P300 and higher made after January 5 will be already valid for one year.

This grace period, starting January 5, was allowed to prevent telcos’ systems from crashing if changes are made abruptly, which may cause serious damage to the industry and disturb the consuming public.

NTC was instructed to closely monitor and address all complaints of prepaid loads being eaten up before the present expiration periods lapsed during the adjustment period.

Initially, only prepaid loads 300 pesos and up will be valid for a year. After 6 months, all prepaid loads regardless of amount will be valid for the whole year.

Took long than necessary but, a victory nonetheless, for all of us prepaid mobile subscribers.

Happy New Year Everyone!

A Sincere Wish for a Better Mobile Experience this 2018!

Gotscombodd70 - My Prepaid Mobile Data via Globe

My SmartBro plug-it used to be my only way to connect to the internet. But ever since buying my ASUS Zenfone 5, I have availed of prepaid mobile data promos via Globe especially when I got hooked on Clash of Clans (COC).

A colleague at work shared with me Gotscombodd70 and I have been using it ever since.

When I started using mobile data via Globe, I used to register - GoSURF15 (code: GS15). GoSURF15 offers 30720 KB mobile data, valid for two (2) days. But I only consume that for my Clash of Clans gaming.

When I learned about Gotscombodd70, I was glad to learn that I can use the mobile other than COC.

With Gotscombodd70, I can enjoy 1000 text to Globe/TM, 1024000 KB surfing valid for 7 days. Balance may be checked by dialing *143# or end the subscription to this promo. Globe also offers FACEBOOK with Free data along this promo.

You may try this for your own mobile data needs. Just send Gotscombodd70 to 8888.

*****

In relation to the Globe System activity scheduled this weekend, I got an SMS notification from Globe that they are extending my Gotscombodd70 today up to 4 pm.

Since, I was able to register Gotscombodd70 last Sunday September 27, 2015 at 10:14 am, it should have already expired. However, due to Globe's system activity this weekend, I got an SMS notification from Globe that they are extending it up to 4 pm today.

I hope that Globe will extend all promos affected by their activity. I'm sure Globe prepaid subscriber's rightfully deserve the extension.

Kindly share your experience in the comments section below.

Happy Mobile Experience this weekend to all. :)

Globe Service System Activity This Weekend (October 3-4, 2015)

Got this SMS notification around 3 pm Today from Globe regarding their System activity this weekend - October 3-4, 2015.

Here's the SMS notification from Globe:
Hi! We're having a system activity from 10/3, 10PM to 10/4, 3PM. Please reload & register to promos early because during this time, promo & roaming registration, outgoing texts (w/active roaming only), balance inquiry, reloading, Share-A-Load, ringback & downloads will be unavailable. Mobile data will also be unavailable unless you've registered to a surf promo beforehand. Your Globe experience is important to us, & we'll work to complete our activity as quickly as possible.

The sender displayed is GLOBE, so I think that the message is authentic.

The gist of the advisory is basically replenish your load credits to avoid inconvenience.

I, myself, has been availing Globe's mobile data packages thru their GoSakto facility. I am enrolled until Monday so I am not worried.

I hope that I have informed my fellow Globe prepaid cellphone subscribers.

Are Price Mark Ups for Prepaid Load Fair? Globe aims to find out via Autoloadmax Survey

What's up with Globe's AutoloadMAX survey after you buy prepaid load credits?

I dispensed 30 prepaid credits to my Globe SIM, just to keep it active.

After receiving the usual text notification of the load received:
P30.00 prepaid credits was loaded to ur mobile# 09xxxxxxxxx Trace No:861536496 10/31/2014 01:37PM

I received a subsequent test message:
Nabili mo ba ang load sa tama at walang patong na presyo? Yes o No? I-forward ang sagot sa 26621 for free.Ex:YES to 26621.Salamat

Loosely translated:

Have you bought your LOAD in the right and no mark up price? Yes or No? Forward your reply to 26621 for free.Ex:YES to 26621.Thanks

Of course, I replied YES.

Here's the response:
Maraming salat sa pagsagot sa survey.

Basically, thanking me for participating in the survey.

The autoloadmax survey made me curious of what is the prevailing mark up for prepaid loads. Since, I dispense load via loadxtreme's online facility, I charge the same as the prepaid load credit. Meaning, 30 pesos for 30 pesos of Autoloadmax.

To all my fellow Globe prepaid subscribers, have you also received this survey? Have you participated in the survey yourself? Do you think that prevailing mark-up for prepaid loads are fair?

Please feel free to answer via the comments.

Reposting Globe Advisory- Stop Text Scam

This may be a bit late but I am still re-posting here Globe's advisory against text scams as my way of helping spreading word among cellphone users in general and fellow Globe prepaid subscribers in particular. In the hope that all of them become aware of text scams.

Globe's Advisory on its Website last May 20, 2014 re-posted here in full:

Let us all be vigilant against text scammers!

Globe Telecom advises its mobile customers to take precaution and not fall victim to text scams on supposed "discount", "refund", "prizes", "stranded relatives" and other fraudulent claims but are actually share-a-load transactions. The campaign versus text scam is in conjunction with its intensified drive versus companies involved in text spams.

The text scams, directed mostly to postpaid customers of Globe, tricks subscribers into sending load credits through various fraudulent claims.

In the case of supposed "discount" or "refund", Globe emphasized that legitimate advisories from the telecommunications provider are labeled from "GLOBE" and do not come from 11-digit numbers. Subscribers may validate unusual texts and calls with the company's customer service agents, said Yoly Crisanto, Globe SVP for Corporate Communications.

A sample scam message reads as follows: "GLOBE POSTPAID: You're the one selected postpaid plan that given 35% discount on your bill just forward this PIN 500 1212 send to 2915XXXXXXXX (ex. 5001212 send to 2915XXXXXXX)." Another example states: "Globe LTE Advisory: Your postpaid account has been charged P500 for LTE use. Is this a wrong charge? Text 500 send to 2936XXXXXXX for REFUND".

Crisanto reminded subscribers that by adding the number "2" before the 10-digit cell phone number of the recipient, the unsuspecting subscriber would have done a Share-A-Load transaction, thus the sum of 500 pesos in the two examples above would be transferred or credited to the prepaid number to which the message was sent to.

Another text scam informs customers they supposedly won in a raffle contest they never participated in and the text message provides "steps" on how to claim the prize. Another text scam involves relatives working abroad supposedly using a new prepaid number, also aimed at tricking subscribers into doing a Share-A-Load transaction.

Globe customers are advised not to respond and, instead, immediately report suspicious text messages to authorized Globe customer service channels. Customers may report mobile numbers used in sending out fraudulent or scam text messages, Crisanto said. Globe customers may report via the Globe website through Talk2Globe Chat ; send a message through Globe Contact Form and by tweeting @Talk2GLOBE on Twitter. Subscribers can put in the number, the exact message, and the time and date the fraudulent text message was received. Such numbers will be immediately disconnected from service once the company gets validation that the same are indeed used for such unscrupulous activities.

Globe's GoSakto App

Globe has finally launched its own app for its “Create Your Own Promo” prepaid service, GoSakto.

Prepaid subscribers using smartphones will now be saved from dialing and texting to avail of Globe's customized prepaid promos.

Globe's GoSakto app is available for free in both Google Play and Apple iTunes.

With the app, globe subscribers need not dial *143# and go through through SMS exchange. Via the app, globe subscribers simply tap the promo of their choice, Globe sends back a PIN through text. Inputting the PIN will allow them to access the service.

Globe prepaid subscribers can enjoy GoSakto combinations to their smartphone's and wallet's content.

Why it took this long for this app to be launched is all water under the bridge now. And it just make me wonder why I have yet to buy an android smartphone.

Enjoy Globe's Unlimited Text to ALL Networks for Half Day for only 15 Pesos

I received today what appears to be Globe's Half-Day Unlitext to all networks service plus half-hour of calls to fellow Globe or TM subscribers for only 15 pesos.

This sounds perfect for those times when you suddenly need to text your family & relatives such as invitations to important gatherings.

Or to share scores of your favorite sports or the latest development in your favorite TV show.

For P15, get unlimited texts to ALL networks plus 30 minutes of calls to Globe/TM, all valid for 12 hours. Register daily from Nov29-Dec1, text ALLCOMBO15H to 8888. Max of 3 registrations only. This is a free advisory. AH 518a-2

Limit in availing this offer is a bit of a turn-off. But I guess this might come in handy for us Globe subscribers. It is just too bad that this is only a trial offering from Globe. I might be trying it this weekend. Expect me sharing my experience with it.

If any of my readers will try, I hope they do share their experience too. :)

SUPLUS45 - Globe's SuperUnli for 2 Days Exclusively Offered to Limited Subscribers

Globe texted me another exclusive promo, the SUPLUS45.

This is another version of their SuperUnli promos that sounds new to me. This may be worth a try to my fellow Globe prepaid subscribers.

The complete ad text is as follows verbatim.

Sulitin ang 2days SuperUnli na exclusive para sayo! Pay only P45 and enjoy unli call and text to Globe/TM na dinagdagan pa ng 40 texts to other networks, all valid for 2days. Limited slots only kaya register na, text SUPLUS45 to 8888 from Aug9-11. Max of 2 reg only. This is a free advisory. AH507a-4

The difference from the SuperUnli promos that I know of is the provision for texting other networks.

Looked differently, the 45 pesos one would use to avail of SUPLUS45 can be broken down to 40 pesos to have the usual 40 texts to other networks and 5 pesos to avail of same network unli calls and text for two days.

SUPLUS45 seem to pick a page from SUN Cellular playbook of promos. br />

Globe's Supposed "EXCLUSIVE" Promo - UNLI ALL NET for 2 days and more....

Just received another supposed "exclusive" deal from Globe.

This time it's about Globe's UNLI ALL NET promo.

But my previous experience with the so-called exclusive lang para sa iyo promo from Globe, I have my reservations.

Here's Globe's advetisement text I received a while ago:

Sulitin ang UNLI ALL NET combo na exclusive para sayo! P40 lang may unlimited ALL NET texts ka na + 100 minutes worth of calls pa to Globe/TM, all valid for 2days. Kaya register na, text ACOMBO40 to 8888 from Jul 19-21. Max of 2 reg only. This is a free advisory. AH 507a-3

This is the first "exclusive" advertisement text from Globe I received that has limit in its use. Based on the text, I can only avail of ACOMBO40 twice.

Have you been sent this kind of advertisement SMS by Globe?

Until now, I can not go over the fact that Globe's supposed exclusive promo provided wrong code. See my post here.

I hope that other Globe prepaid subscribers do not receive wrong info for the services/promo offered by Globe.

Globe's Personalized Promo For Prepaid Subscribers and Gounli30

I received a free advisory from Globe informing about Globe's GoUnli30.

It made curious if Globe is really sending personalized promo's to its millions of prepaid subscribers.

The full text below:

Para lang sayo, ang GoUnli30, P25 na lang! Save P5 and enjoy unlimited ALL NET texts + unlimited calls to Globe/TM na dinagdagan pa ng unlimited Facebook, all valid for 1 day. Over sa sulit! Kaya register na from Jun28-30, text GOUNLI25A to 8888. This is a free advisory. AH-510a-1

Whenever I wanted to enjoy unlimited text to all networks, I usually use UNLIPLUS25. But it only offers 10 mins of calls to Globe/TM subs. GoUnli30 is way better.

It's just a pity that my unit is really not that ok for internet browsing that I can not enjoy the one day unlimited Facebook.

A quick search over the net revealed that GoUnli30 has been offered as early as October 2012.

So, this "personalized promo" is just marketing strategy. Globe may actually be just re-introducing an old prepaid promo to its subscribers.

Nevertheless, this promo is very beneficial to my cellphone usage.

UPDATE: June 29, 2013

The keyword "GOUNLI25A" did not work. GOUNLI30 did.

PAG-IBIG Payments Thru Cellphones

Finally, our government institution is adapting available technology in making transactions easier for Filipinos.

PAG-IBIG payments thru cellphones is now available thru the recent partnership between GLOBE and the Home Development Mutual Fund (more known as PAG-IBIG). I read about this from yesterday's issue of Inquirer Libre. I can only quipped that it is about time. I hope that other government transactions like those for SSS, Philhealth can follow suit.

Through Globe's GCASH facility, PAG-IBIG members can pay their monthly contribution or loan payments anytime and anywhere, right at their comfort thru cellphones. This program is beneficial to many employers and those belonging to low income brackets (e.g. kasambahays)

First things first, PAG-IBIG members need to be Globe subscribers and register for a GCASH account.

GCASH is basically storing cash on one's cellphone sim, turning cash into digital/virtual money. To know more about GCASH, check out Globe's website here.

Once, GCASH account is registered, it needs to be funded by either online bank transfer, Bancnet ATMs, Mobile phone banking or GCASH outlets. Charges may be incurred with this, so please clarify before proceeding.

To remit Pag-IBIG payments, members can pay either P100 (Monthly Mandatory Savings) or P500 (Modified Pag-IBIG II) by dialing *143# on their mobile phones, selecting 'GCASH' and choosing 'Pay Bills'. For housing loan, just include the 20-digit payment reference number. Members can also pay using their smartphones via the GCASH Mobile App available on iTunes, Google Play, and Blackberry World. All Pag-IBIG payments are processed within 2-3 banking days.

Paying Pag-IBIG contributions and housing loans via GCASH is FREE of charge up to December 18, 2013. A minimal service fee of P5.00 will be charged per Pag-IBIG transaction via GCASH afterwards.

>From here.
Cellphone users will welcome this development in government transactions. I just hope that both Globe customer service and PAG-IBIG staff can be extra helpful in explaining this service.

Darn! I forgot that Globe Rewards Points Have Expiration

Darn, I was not able to take advantage of the Globe rewards points I accumulated last year because I forgot that it expires every March 30.

I maintain my globe prepaid account mainly because my GF uses one. Having to reload prepaid credits from time to time, I thought that opting for the Globe Rewards program can also be of help from time to time.

Old age, old age. Tsk! Tsk! Globe Rewards points has expiration.!

I received a notification text from 4438 informing me of my available points as of today. I was about to delete it when I remembered that my points should have been close to 300. Then, it hit me. The other points have already expired.

Screenshot of Globe Rewards Terms & Condition - Points Expiration

I am making this post in the hope that it will help me not to forget again next year. After all, claiming my rewards for allowing Globe to send me notices every now and then is a fair deal.

Globe SUPERUNLIALLTXT - Unlimited Texts to ALL NETWORKS, Php 25 for 1 Day

Globe is now offering a service that allows its prepaid subscribers to text anyone from any mobile network unlimitedly via SUPERUNLIALLTXT.

I can text anyone as long as I like for a day and with only 25 pesos? Every text scammers' wildest dream!

A promo text about it greeted me this morning. Unfortunately, I have not enough prepaid load at the moment to test it out.

Globe SUPERUNLIALLTXT
Image from Infochatnews

Globe sent me this text message coming from 4438:

MyRewardsMyGlobe: Sa P25 load, may earned points ka, super pwede mo pang ipambili ng unlimited texts to all networks plus 1 hour mobile internet sa bagong GLOBE SUPERUNLIALLTXT. To register, txt UALL25 to 8888. Sakto lang sa bulsa, may points ka pa!
Naturally, I searched online for this. A few blogs [ here & here ] have already written about this latest prepaid product offering since yesterday but (again) it is not yet on Globe's website. Sending INFO to 8888 for more details proved to be no dice, too!

SUPERUNLIALLTXT offers unlimited texts/SMS messages to ALL NETWORKS good for 24 hours (1 Day) for only 25 pesos. No end of promo date was mentioned.

Sounds like a fair deal if you really need to be texting a lot on a given day. Of course, only if Globe system can support on a lot (if not all) subscribers availing this prepaid product/service simultaneously.

The one-hour mobile internet comes to me as a mere bonus. Could anyone please share their experience with Globe's mobile internet connection?

I once tried Globe's prepaid Tattoo but found Smart Bro & Sun somehow more passable in terms of speed in my area.

Apparently, Smart too has an unlimited-texts-to-all-networks product too. Found that here.

Kindly comment about your experience with this product, preferably not anonymously. If you are using both, comparison between the two is much more welcome. :)

Globe Tattoo Broadband Stick

Globe appears to be aggresively marketing its Globe Tattoo Broadband Stick. I think I saw an ad of it for two consecutive Sundays, a full page ad at that in Manila Bulletin.

Globe's Tattoo Broadband Stick promises wireless internet connection of up to 2 Mbps. It is available in prepaid and postpaid. Also, the Tattoo USB allows you to make or receive a call straight to/from your PC/laptop, (headset necessary).

Globe's Tattoo Broadband Stick

Image from Globe's Product Page

From the ad I saw on March 20, 2011, the Globe Tattoo Stick is being sold at Php 1245. Freebies being offered are 125 free surfing hours and 2000 texts/SMS to Globe & TM cellphone numbers. To enjoy these freebies, those who buy the prepaid broadband stick need to text FREE125 to 8888. They can enjoy the freebies for 30 days.

Promo is from March 15 to June 12, 2011.

Another related promo is the Buy 3, Get 1 Free promo on Globe Tattoo Stick. Basically, the prize goes down to Php 933.75. This promo is from March 13, 2011 to April 13, 2011.

Better yet, verify with Globe business centers if you are interested to get one.

If I don't already have my Smart Bro broadband plug-it, I would definitely try Globe's Tattoo broadband stick. The globe signal in my home area is strong. And if the service would proved to be bad, I can just enjoy those 2000 text as most of my contacts are using Globe sims.

Are you using one? How is its performance? Kindly, share with us via the comments section.
