GOCOMBOIJHD95 - My Current Globe Prepaid Subscriptions

For my Globe prepaid, I used to avail of GoUNLI50. But recently, I learned of a better promo to avail - GOCOMBOIJHD95

GOCOMBOIJHD95 allows me to enjoy unlimited calls to Globe/TM subscribers, unlimited text to ALL NETWORKS for a week. Plus, it offers 100 MB surfing & free Facebook. All these for only Php 95.00.

Whereas, GoUNLI50, only allows 3 days of unlimited calls to Globe/TM subscribers, unlimited text to ALL NETWORKS.

Comparison by simple computation; I spend almost 17 pesos per day for GoUNLI50 compared to a slightly lower 14 pesos per day for using GOCOMBOIJHD95.

Since, I used my globe sim in my back-up phone, I can't really tell if the free 100 MB and Facebook is similarly enjoyable.

For my fellow Globe prepaid subscriber, I suggest you try this new promo package - GOCOMBOIJHD95

I will Upgrade my current Prepaid SIM to Globe's LTE SIM

Yugatech reported over the weekend that Globe Prepaid LTE SIMs are now available in all Globe Stores nationwide.

Screengrab from Globe's Facebook Status

But what interested me is that Globe offers free upgrade of my non-LTE prepaid SIM into the new LTE SIM.

Like any of my fellow Globe non-LTE prepaid subscribers, I dream of accessing the internet thru my mobile phone in blazing speeds. After all, that is the promise of Long Term Evolution (LTE).

While mobile internet speed I experienced, offered by telecom companies in the Philippines in general, remains inconsistent and poor, I guess there's nothing wrong in making our handsets LTE ready.

Thankfully, we can retain our current mobile numbers and get a free upgrade.

Initially, I sent a direct message to Globe in Facebook to inquire about the upgrade.

While waiting for Globe's response, I decided to research more and found the Globe's FAQ page on Prepaid LTE SIM.

Here it is:

Furthermore, I also learned from there that the LTE SIM will work in all cellphones or handsets type. However, fast browsing in LTE speeds may only be enjoyed if you are using a LTE-capable device and if you are within an area with LTE coverage.

As per Globe's website, here are their areas with LTE Coverage.

You may want to check if your device is LTE capable. You may check here and here.

I will be lining up at a Globe Store soon.

Are Price Mark Ups for Prepaid Load Fair? Globe aims to find out via Autoloadmax Survey

What's up with Globe's AutoloadMAX survey after you buy prepaid load credits?

I dispensed 30 prepaid credits to my Globe SIM, just to keep it active.

After receiving the usual text notification of the load received:
P30.00 prepaid credits was loaded to ur mobile# 09xxxxxxxxx Trace No:861536496 10/31/2014 01:37PM

I received a subsequent test message:
Nabili mo ba ang load sa tama at walang patong na presyo? Yes o No? I-forward ang sagot sa 26621 for free.Ex:YES to 26621.Salamat

Loosely translated:

Have you bought your LOAD in the right and no mark up price? Yes or No? Forward your reply to 26621 for free.Ex:YES to 26621.Thanks

Of course, I replied YES.

Here's the response:
Maraming salat sa pagsagot sa survey.

Basically, thanking me for participating in the survey.

The autoloadmax survey made me curious of what is the prevailing mark up for prepaid loads. Since, I dispense load via loadxtreme's online facility, I charge the same as the prepaid load credit. Meaning, 30 pesos for 30 pesos of Autoloadmax.

To all my fellow Globe prepaid subscribers, have you also received this survey? Have you participated in the survey yourself? Do you think that prevailing mark-up for prepaid loads are fair?

Please feel free to answer via the comments.

Real UnliCHAT Experience with Globe’s GoUnli30

I got to know about Globe's GoUnli30 through Globe's personalized promo for its prepaid subscribers.

Although, I was a bit pissed for some errors on this advertisement text, I eventually got to benefit with it.

How does Globe GoUNLI30 give me the REAL UNLI chat experience?

I can honestly say that through GoUnli30, I have no worries calling family and friends who are also Globe subscribers and texting my barkadas regardless of cellular networks. So, if you consider a lot of text exchanges as "chatting" in a techie-kind-of-sense, then Globe's GoUNLI30 provided me a real chat experience by unlimited texting.

It is just sad that my Nokia C2-00 has no wifi. Shamefully, I do not have any idea about the chat feature of my cellphone. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

  • With GoUNLI30, subscribers get unlimited texts to all networks, unlimited calls to Globe/TM, and unlimited chat with the best messaging apps like Viber, Kakao Talk, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, WeChat, Line and the telco’s very own messaging app GMessage without the need for Wi-Fi or additional data charges. Available for only P30 valid for 1 day, GoUNLI30 gives you no excuse to stay out of the loop and connect with more than 1 billion users around the world regardless of mobile network or location.
  • Go all-out unlimited with GoUNLI30 and UNLICHAT25 now. Register by dialing *143# and then choosing GoSAKTO on your Globe mobile phone or texting GOUNLI30 or UNLICHAT25 to 8888
I hope that Globe continue to offer GoUnli30.
