Cherry Mobile is celebrating its second year anniversary and will be offering a one day sale of its Cherry Mobile Q60 phones.

Cherry Mobile Q60 phones are triple-Sim TV Phones that will be sold for only Php 2,499 on July 16, 2011 on selected stores in the country.

I am not a fan of Cherry Mobile but I think it deserves some consideration for your next cellphone.

I saw an ad of the sale on Manila Bulletin. Though my experience with Cherry Mobile turned not so well, I will give them the benefit of doubt only for reaching their second year.

For affordability (sale price), being triple-sim (good for loading business) and a tv phone ( I sorely need at present ), I'd give the Cherry Mobile Q60 some consideration.

Here are the features of Cherry Mobile Q60:
  • Triple SIM / Triple Standby
  • Mobile TV with Recording
  • QWERTY keypad
  • Dual Camera with 2.0MP Main
  • SLIM Form Factor
  • Multimedia Player
  • 3.5mm Headset Compatible
  • FM Radio
  • MMS / WAP / GPRS
  • Java / Built in Games
  • Bluetooth
  • Micro SD Card 8GB

Here in the Metro Manila, the sale will be at Market! Market! Activity Area from 10 am to 7 pm. Only 2 units per customer are allowed.

Talk 'N Text Panalo Phone: Cheapest Cellphone in PHL Today

Yugatech featured what would be the cheapest cellphone in the Philippines, the Talk 'N Text Panalo Phone. A unit of the Panalo Phone was reported to be priced at only Php 499.

Yugatech writes, "The handsets are simple candybar phones which were co-branded with Cherry Mobile and ZTE. The phones are also locked to the TNT network and it’s highly likely the telco is subsidizing for the cost of the handset."

If it will distributed direct to homes, it may be a good time to start a database of prepaid cellphone subscribers.

Filipinos love gadgets moreso if it comes cheap such as this TNT's Panalo Phone. And if this concept from TNT will succeed, other telcos will surely follow. That would indeed be great for communications all over the country.

On the business side, more demand for cellphone units will be good for manufacturing. More cellphones units will also mean more demand for prepaid load.

Yugatech further writes that the Panalo Phone will be distributed via direct-to-home approach. Perhaps distributing this cheap phone may be a good time to start the registration of prepaid cellphone users.

The affordability of the Panalo Phone can also be taken advantage of crooks who utilize cellphones in their illegal activities. I think a registration of some sort can make these unscrupulous people think twice before using any cheap cellphone to commit a crime. Because there is a possibility that the cellphone can be linked to them.

Cherry Mobile Superion Tablet Phone isn't better than Apple Ipad, only cheaper

I read from Apol's blog about the Cherry Mobile Superion Tablet Phone.

While I agree that it is hands down cheaper (almost half), I'd like to convince him to just save for an Ipad.

Cherry Mobile Superion Tablet Phone Features/Specifications.

  • Android OS 2.2
  • Quadband GSM, 850/900/1900/2100
  • Triband UMTS 900/1900/2100
  • 7" WVGA Capacitive Touchscreen
  • Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 MHz Processor
  • 512MB ROM, 512MB RAM
  • Expandable memory up to 32GB
  • 3G/HSDPA Connectivity
  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • GPRS/AGPS
  • Standard Mini USB 2.0
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • G-Sensor
  • Ambient Light Sensor
  • Google Mobile Services (Gmail, Maps, Marketplace)
  • 3 megapixels with Auto-Focus (Back)
  • VGA Camera (Front)

I used to have a Cherry Mobile Phone, loved it initially. But it just lasted for 5 months. And the service center is only in Cubao.

One thing that Apple is known for is after-sales support. And there I guess, where goes your money's worth.

Kuya Apol, please choose your namesake and not the Cherry Mobile Superion Tablet Phone. Okay, I admit. The only reason for this post is my desire to borrow Apol's Ipad. LOL!

Cherry Mobile Q71 on Sale Today September 17, 2010

I am not really a big fan of the MRT Newspaper Inquirer Libre. But some ad caught my eye. It was Cherry Mobile Q71 sale's full page ads.

The Cherry Mobile Q71 cellular phone is advertised as a chrome-finished QWERTY & TV phone is going on sale today for the 2nd time.

Other features enumerated on the ad were:

Cherry Mobile Q71 Mobile Phone

  • Touch Pad
  • 2.0 Mega Pixel Camera
  • Quad Band GSM (850/900/1800/1900)
  • 2.2" QVGA TFT Wide Display
  • MP3 Player/Video Player
  • Micro SD up to 8 GB
  • Wire-free FM Radio
  • G-Sensor
  • JAVA
  • MMS/WAP/GPRS
  • Bluetooth 2.0 (A2DP/AVCRP)

This Cherry Mobile Q71 phone is on Sale today at the Market Market Activity Area from 10 am to 9 pm. From Php 5890 to only Php 2990.

Only two cellphone units are allowed per customer.

I do own a Cherry Mobile phone. While I am not fully satisfied with the expandability of its feature, I do enjoy the dual sim capability, FM radio & blue tooth features.

All I can advice is ask questions about where to go for warranty, where to go for repairs and where to buy accessories.

If budget and simple functionalities are your main considerations in buying a cellphone, then I think that Cherry Mobile phones can be good enough.

NOTE: The ad can be seen when you go cherrymobile.com.ph today. Image taken & link to the cherry mobile website. This is not a paid post and I'm in no way affialiate with the company.

My cherry mobile c55 data cable is busted :(

My Cherry Mobile C55 phone's USB data cable is busted. It sucks! :((

I just discovered that the USB data cable for my C55 Cherry mobile phone does not work anymore. :(( Worse, it also works as its charger.

With regard to charging, it is a good thing my housemate Ordz have a universal charger.

Before I noticed few times that it did not work but a few movement of the cable solve the problem. This time, any form of moving the cable to almost all direction was futile.

I guess I damaged it by putting it in my back pocket because I'm too lazy to bring a pouch or something.

Initial inquiries revealed that I need to go visit the service center for repair or replacement USB data cable. The said authorized service center is somewhere in Cubao. Arrgh!

Blackberry & My very black Cherry Mobile C55

An officemate who is also seated beside me incidentally placed her Blackberry beside my own Cherry Mobile C55 cellphone. As I often tease her for always changing her mobile phones with the latest model, she said that my phone is not really that bad.

That is officemate Sab's Blackberry beside my very black Cherry Mobile C55 phone. LOL!

blackberry & my very black cherry mobile 55

Update: My Cherry Mobile C55 fails in comparison with the Blackberry but up to that point in time, it was the most featured mobile phone that I have used. It is just unfortunate that it did not last well enough. Perhaps in part due to my use. But my nokia phones lasted longer and subjected to more abuse. Hehehe!

I would have tried to get it repaired and to use it more, if only the tech support for Cherry mobile phones are accessible. I'm guessing that Blackberry has a superb tech support even here in the Philippines.

Cherry Mobile C55 - My New Cellphone in Prepaid

Cherry Mobile C55 is now my new prepaid cellphone unit.

Hopefully, my Cherry Mobile C55 can surpass the length of service with my previous cellphone - a Nokia 1110 - which served me well for four long years.

But hands down, my newest cellphone trumps the previous one by a mile in terms of features and funtionality.

FEATURES:
  • Touch Screen 2.4" TFT display
  • 1.3 Megapixel Camera
  • Dual Sim/Dual Standby
  • Dual Band 900/1800 MHz
  • GPRS / MMS
  • Multimedia Player
  • Blue Tooth
  • Micro SD Card up to 6 GB
  • FM Radio
  • Widgets
  • Folding / Clam Type

Cherry Mobile is the newest cellphone handsets maker in the Philippine mobile market. Its main selling point is its Dual SIM capability. Of course, it also have the usual features common with the mobile phone units today.

Two-months ago, I blogged about wanting a new cellphone. I finally decided to buy one so that I can leave my old cellphone in our house for communications.

What I wanted mainly was a dual sim phone. Among the choices were Myphone, Torque and Cherry Mobile. While surfing the net, I got interested with the clam type or folding unit because it reminded me of my phone while staying in Japan.

I was able to to purchase the unit for Php 3590 under zero interest for three months at the Cherry Mobile Festival in SM Megamall Cyberzone. Added bonus was an extra battery and free speakers.

Being used to Nokia phones, it took a week before I became comfortable creating and sending messages. Courtesy of officemate Sab, I got a free 4 GB microSD. So far I have enjoyed the dual SIM capability, FM radio and bluetooth connectivity the most. I'm still exploring its image capturing and video recording features.

Unfortunately, my Cherry Mobile C55 isn't ideal to my prepaid loading business. The template in its SMS feature has limited characters for LoadXtreme command syntax. Also, it has no insert number feature. That's why I barely dispense prepaid load via this cellphone. Hopefully, I get the hang of my new cellphone entirely soon.

On a daily SMS & call basis, I believe my Cherry Mobile C55 was a good buy.
