Cherry Mobile is celebrating its second year anniversary and will be offering a one day sale of its Cherry Mobile Q60 phones.

Cherry Mobile Q60 phones are triple-Sim TV Phones that will be sold for only Php 2,499 on July 16, 2011 on selected stores in the country.

I am not a fan of Cherry Mobile but I think it deserves some consideration for your next cellphone.

I saw an ad of the sale on Manila Bulletin. Though my experience with Cherry Mobile turned not so well, I will give them the benefit of doubt only for reaching their second year.

For affordability (sale price), being triple-sim (good for loading business) and a tv phone ( I sorely need at present ), I'd give the Cherry Mobile Q60 some consideration.

Here are the features of Cherry Mobile Q60:

• Triple SIM / Triple Standby
• Mobile TV with Recording
• QWERTY keypad
• Dual Camera with 2.0MP Main
• SLIM Form Factor
• Multimedia Player
• 3.5mm Headset Compatible
• FM Radio
• MMS / WAP / GPRS
• Java / Built in Games
• Bluetooth
• Micro SD Card 8GB

Here in the Metro Manila, the sale will be at Market! Market! Activity Area from 10 am to 7 pm. Only 2 units per customer are allowed.

The sale will also be held on selected stores in Luzon, Visayas & Mindanao

Nokia X1-00 - A New Cellphone that will be Music to Your Ears Literally

A new cellphone was launched today by Nokia, the Nokia X1-00. This latest cellphone from Nokia, I'm sure will be music to ears of all audio-slaved cellphone users out there.

It is nice to know that Nokia isn't just concentrated on producing smartphones. Rather, the Nokia X1 is designed for the ultimate audio-addicted cellphone users today.

Set to be available in April, at around 35 Euros before taxes.

The Nokia X1-00 in Blue Design
from the Nokia blog

The massive speaker at the back is a sure give-away as to what this Nokia X1-00 cellphone is all about. It's loudness is said to be capable of rattling your windows. That's kind of a warning for anyone's eardrum, I suppose. The good thing in that is that the sound don't get distorted even when you up the volume.

Some other features of Nokia X1-00:

• 3 dedicated player keys & a nifty single-key playlist creator

• Music storage of up to 16 Gb MicroSD

• FM Radio

• 5 Phone books

• Battery - Maximum of 61 days

• Apps: calendar, clock, calculator, preloaded games

Most of all, it is a very affordable phone, especially amongst us - Filipinos. As Nokia cellphone loyal user, I would have to say that the Nokia X1 price range of about Php 3000 with a good design and singled-out feature is worth the price.

In my daily commute to work, there are so many people traveling with an earphone in their ears. A sign that we Filipinos enjoy mobile music. And with Nokia X1-00' great sound, huge music storage and lenghty battery life, no journey is long enough without music accompanying you.

The Nokia X1 comes in orange and the blue that I like. Read the complete media release about the Nokia X1-00 launch at the Nokia blog.

Cherry Mobile Q71 on Sale Today September 17, 2010

I am not really a big fan of the MRT Newspaper Inquirer Libre. But some ad caught my eye. It was Cherry Mobile Q71 sale's full page ads.

The Cherry Mobile Q71 cellular phone is advertised as a chrome-finished QWERTY & TV phone is going on sale today for the 2nd time.

Other features enumerated on the ad were:

• Touch Pad
• 2.0 Mega Pixel Camera
• Quad Band GSM (850/900/1800/1900)
• 2.2" QVGA TFT Wide Display
• MP3 Player/Video Player
• Micro SD up to 8 GB
• Wire-free FM Radio
• G-Sensor
• JAVA
• MMS/WAP/GPRS
• Bluetooth 2.0 (A2DP/AVCRP)

This Cherry Mobile Q71 phone is on Sale today at the Market Market Activity Area from 10 am to 9 pm. From Php 5890 to only Php 2990.

Only two cellphone units are allowed per customer.

I do own a Cherry Mobile phone. While I am not fully satisfied with the expandability of its feature, I do enjoy the dual sim capability, FM radio & blue tooth features.

All I can advice is ask questions about where to go for warranty, where to go for repairs and where to buy accessories.

If budget and simple functionalities are your main considerations in buying a cellphone, then I think that Cherry Mobile phones can be good enough.

NOTE: The ad can be seen when you go cherrymobile.com.ph today. Image taken & link to the cherry mobile website. This is not a paid post and I'm in no way affialiate with the company.

Samsung Galaxy S of Officemate Alex

Officemate Alex recently got the Samsung Galaxy S thru Globe's recent offering. Globe offered Samsung Galaxy S free in a special promo for plan 2499 up until July 31st which Alex availed.

Now, this latest cellphone unit from Samsung is free, starting with post-paid plan 5000 from Globe.

Apologies to include post-paid plans here in my blog. But I was so amused with Alex' reaction upon receiving her unit today in our office.

As for Alex, she's busy unpacking her latest tech toy.

I was also curious about what the Super AMOLED feature was. The acronym stand for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. There is this nose-bleed of an explanation here. As far as I understand it, its main benefit is a brighter display of colors.

From Globe Website

With the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 being Super, that's means more awesome display. This, I think, have become the industry standard for smartphones.
