Donate to Yolanda Relief via Globe Reward Points

In the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), I still haven't made up my mind as to how to take part in providing relief to victims. Thankfully, Globe allows its subscribers to donate via its Globe Rewards program in support of efforts in providing relief to those devastated by Yolanda.

Today, I received the following text message from 4438:

You can donate to the Yolanda Relief Operations using your Globe Rewards points. Just text DONATEYOLANDA to 4438. Available amounts: 5, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000. Ex. DONATE YOLANDA5. 1 point = Php 1 donation. Text BAL to 4438 to check your points

So, I quickly checked my rewards points balance. Then, I tried donating all available points. However, I got this reply:

Please register so we can process your request. Just text REGFIRSTNAME/LASTNAME/ADDRESS/BDAY(MMDDYYYY) to 4438. Ex. REG JUAN/CRUZ/3 Red st. Green Park Village Pasig City/04081985. Your transaction will be cancelled if registration is not completed within the day.

After registering, I received the following:

Thank you for registering. Pls send your transaction to 4438 again to confirm your request.

After resending the DONATE syntax, the following notification was sent to me:

Thank you for your donation. 100% of your contributions will go to the Yolanda Relief Operations under the Bangon Pinoy Program of Globe Telecom.

I urge all my fellow Globe prepaid subscribers. This is an easy way to contribute to the efforts in providing as much relief as possible to the victims of this typhoon.
